Maisie is my own design but using basic pattern shapes from Jan Horrox’ book, An Introduction to Making Cloth Dolls.
Maisie has hidden button joints and hair that has been wound around wires to give it height. Her face is needle-sculptured and I have used pastels to shade the contours of the face, such as the eye sockets and down the side of the nose. Watercolour pencils were used for the features.
She has flip-flop shoes on her needle-sculptured feet, and has individual fingers that are always fiddly to create.
