Molly was a happy accident! The body was intended for another doll but I had forgotten to put wires in her so I didn’t use it. Her head was too round for the other doll too, and the legs were too fat. Put all the bits together and there’s Molly. Her curly red hair came from my local fabric shop, The Sewing Box, from their ‘free’ box of oddments. And my sister, Sandra, knitted her cardigan. Molly has a pretty dress made from dotty and flowery cotton fabric layered and embroidered around the hem. Her dress has a little dotty collar. She is keeping warm in thick tights, boots and mittens. A hat and scarf is all she needs now.

She is adapted from the Snippets pattern by Julie McCullough, Magic Threads I designed my own head and I used watercolour pencils for her face. I normally needle?sculpt the face, but I felt she looked fine just as she was. She has button?jointed arms and legs which means she can stand or sit, and her arms will move. I also put a little stone in each foot before stuffing so she stands up very nicely.
